I received this book for free and so in return I will give my honest review!!
So going into this book I really didn't know what to expect, I figured it was going to a fantasy with some adventure maybe? While it did have that it actually turned out to be more of a romance and personal growth type book. What really intrigued me about this book is the curse Whimsy has. While reading I also figured out her curse goes more in depth; such as she can not only predict peoples death that are close to her but she feels everything they will feel as well. So the public thinks she is having a panic attack when actually she is getting paralyzed. So essentially she has agoraphobia.
Quick Summary
Whimsy has been struggling with being out in public her entire life but decided to remove herself from it completely to deal with her curse. When suddenly she is getting visions and a gut feeling to just get up and go. She decides New York of all places and when she gets there she pumps into a boy. This boy also has the gut feeling to help her out and in doing so they gain a friendship and then end up falling for each other. Whimsy has never felt so safe with someone and being near him makes her power and or curse less intensified. Towards the end they learn secrets about one another and some suspenseful events lead to a crazy ending.
Characters
I freaking LOVE Whimsy - she kind of reminds me of my own humor. She is very witty, and strong, and with her curse has a positive personality most of the time. She enjoys the little things in life we all take for granted and it's refreshing to read about. The boy she meets, Beck, is also super adorable. He makes me want to dump my boyfriend and date him he's so sweet. Goes out of his way to make Whimsy comfortable even without knowing her secrets. They are a great pair and it was so enjoyable to read them together.
The ending does show promise for a second book that is releasing this year I believe. I am thinking it will have to do more with the Dr. that tortured her growing up - and I hope it does because there are a lot of unanswered questions I have! I have a feeling it will deal with a a kidnapping and Beck trying to save her.
