Requiem by Lauren Oliver (Delirium Series #3)

BRB, while I go cry that I have finished this series... literally one of the best Dystopian Series I have ever read. I have NO idea what it is about Dystopian style books but I am hooked... probably because it seems so crazy and fictional but honestly.... it could totally happen!

So this is the last book in the Delirium series, and sadly my least favorite. (Mainly because of the ending) That's why I didn't rate this book 5 stars like the other two books, I feel like when the author and reader spend so much time investing their lives into the characters lives - and we don't get closure, it can be really frustrating. Reading a stand alone novel with no closure = FINE. But my mind is going crazy over what happened.

Quick Summary

Book two ended with a HUGE cliffhanger such as Alex coming back from the dead - but acting totally heartless. So this book has the readers thinking well shit - who is Lena going to pick, Alex or Julian? Well other than the awkward love triangle going on, everyone in the Wilds are getting threated by the government destroying everything and anyone against them. This book is also different from the others because it's telling Lena's side of the story as well as Hana and everything that's happening after her procedure. This book has lots of adventure, grief, love, character development. You also get to see Lena return back to her hometown.

Plot

Like I always say - what I LOVED most about this book is the idea of love being illegal and as a disease. It's GENIUS and I couldn't read these novels fast enough. But this 3rd book honestly felt like more filler than anything. It was just a lot of moving around from camp site to camp site until the "big finale" and the big finale was SHIT. Only because - we never get to find out who Lena picks like WTF (sorry spoiler alert) or what happens after the finale and to any of the characters. Like c'mon Oliver... GIVE US SOMETHING. At least make a book or something with an ending so I can feel somewhat satisfied.

Regardless of the terrible ending - this book and series overall was fantastic and I applaud the author for her amazing job. So much emotion was put into this and I exerted emotion into this book as well. I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. I am very sad to see this series to an end but it's made my genre type open up and I plan on reading a lot more dystopian style novels because it's scary and intense.

P.S. There is a TV series about the first book.... it's terrible quality but I know sometimes after reading a book it's nice to see it come to life. Emma Roberts stars as Lena.
