Book Review - Dead Pretty

Dead Pretty by Samantha Towle

HOLY SHIT Y'ALL....This book was CRAZY. (In a good way)

I don't even know where to begin.... so this book could fall into the genre of either Romance or Suspense/Thriller but if there is a category for both at the same time... this book fits perfect. If you love twisted, unexpected ending...this book is for you! I will do my best to describe this book without giving away the ending... I will just tell you it was very unpredictable but it didn't surprise me if I thought back and all the clues the author hinted at.

Quick Summary

This young woman named Audrey ends up moving away from home due to a traumatic experience with a stalker/killer. He killed other women, animals, let crazy notes... all for her.. ended up capturing her and mutilating her body... but not killing her. So she moves away where she sets these rules for herself to isolate her from other people. She is still very paranoid though because she keeps experiencing Deja Vu and other crimes happening around her that are oddly familiar to her stalkers MO.

But she ends up meeting this man who comes into her work often, she tries to deny any connection but the chemistry between them is WAY TOO HOT. So they end up falling into bed together... and eventually love. (Now this is where it starts to get crazy) As readers, we suspected the man she falls for, Jack, to have some secret connected to her past... and he does. What we don't expect is what happens after she finds out about it. Anndddd that's about all I can tell you without giving other things away.

Characters

There really isn't that many characters involved in this book and it's better that way. It consists of Audrey, Jack, Audrey's brother - Cole, some other co-workers, and mentions of her stalker - Tobias. I think the author did a great job of relating them all into the story and even some lines that small characters had held a lot of meaning.

Plot

The plot was.... amazing.... genius....crazy.....twisted.....jaw dropping.... and so many other words I can't even get them all out at once. Un-happy endings are my favorite - and if you have read my other posts you should know that by now. It makes the book more realistic and memorable.

Overall - You NEED to read this book. It was very easy to read and get into.. I think it was around 280 pages so It didn't take long at all. I have never read any other Samantha Towle books but if you have... please let me know what you thought of them!!
